This is always an awkward area for me, describing myself and how I found myself in this wonderful position.
I was recently reminded by my parents that as a little girl there were only two games I wanted to play over and over again. The first was “Beauty Shop”, where I was the stylist to family and friends and yes, imaginary clients as well. The second being “Store”, and of course I was always the clerk.
At 16 years old I decided to forego my traditional high school experience and enter into the Cosmetology program at a local Technical High school. Two years later I graduated receiving my High School diploma, and having passed the Missouri State Boards, I was also a Licensed Cosmetologist.
Over the next 6 years I went on to attend Columbia College Chicago, while working in the beauty industry as a Hair /Makeup Artist, Product Educator, and Platform Artist. For my 25th birthday I celebrated by opening my very own Day Spa Salon.
A few years later in 2004 I began to make the transition into retail, and desired an ultra “girly” boutique full of Oh- So Pretty things. Three years later I have that, and it is my pleasure to see how my dream continues to bring joy and fun to customers of The Little Blaque Dress.
